Beginner, Advanced or Strongman - Which Program Best Suits My Needs?
|
If you’re new to working out in a regular way (meaning that you don’t normally perform workouts harder than walking,
gardening, or general movement,) then give the Beginner Level a try. Geared toward increasing your output level,
Beginner Level workouts will encourage weight loss, increased aerobic capacity, a solid strength foundation, and lots
of all-important ‘core’ work for your midsection. You’ll walk or jog rather than run. You’ll do a lot of abdominal work.
You’ll challenge yourself with the goal of coming back to do it again tomorrow. After all, the most important workout of
your life is the NEXT workout! If you’re moving, you’re winning. Your success will be measured by your level of
adherence, not your speed or strength. We recommend biweekly nutritional consultations with the Beginner program,
to keep you steadily progressing toward your goals.
An advanced trainee will have a specific performance-based goal in mind, or relish tougher, more intense workouts.
Running/jogging shouldn’t be a problem, and there shouldn’t be any injuries to overcome. While the Advanced
program will certainly improve body composition (less fat, more muscle,) it isn’t geared primarily toward weight loss.
You’ll go hard, you’ll go fast, you’ll lift more. The bar will be set high. Your adherence level will be measured, as will
your physical progress in different runs, lifts, and other challenges.
For the Advanced program, we recommend a monthly nutritional consultation with a Catalyst Nutritionist to encourage
lean-tissue strength, recovery, and stimulation, and avoid overtraining.
